Please join us on June 10th at 8:00 a.m. for the next breakfast. Our speaker for the June 10th Men’s Breakfast will be Connie Mercer, founder and executive director of HomeFront. HomeFront’s mission is to end family homelessness in Central New Jersey by harnessing the caring, resources and expertise of the community. HomeFront is committed to ameliorating the immediate pain of homelessness and to helping families with children become self sufficient. We work to give our clients the skills and opportunities to find employment and we work to increase the availability of adequate, affordable housing. HomeFront provides an array of unique programs and services which are provided at no cost to client families. On any given night, HomeFront provides shelter for 450 people and in the past year, over 8,000 people came asking for and receiving help from HomeFront. As well as shelter and transitional housing, the organization provides case management, homelessness prevention, emergency food, free clothing and household goods at their FreeStore. HomeFront also provides job training, job placement and readiness skills and HomeFront’s special programming for children is designed to help them grow socially and academically and is fully geared to help break the cycle of poverty.
